De-Stress, Target, and Chill – Virtual Group for High School Students

childrens Classes

With Sandra MacPhail, Ph.D. (Licensed Psychologist)

Learn how to focus your mind to improve attention in these areas:
  • Schoolwork & Test Taking
  • Stress Reduction
  • Athletic Performance
  • Building Confidence
  • Relationships with Friends & Family

In this 4-session course you will learn a specific way of paying attention to your breath, your body, your thoughts, your feelings, and the world around you. This way of paying attention is very powerful because when you can observe your thoughts and feelings, then you can choose what you say and how you act. Often, when teens are worried or fearful, or have problems paying attention, certain thoughts can lead to these feelings. Being mindful of these thoughts and choosing to act and feel differently can improve your life! Students who have taken this course have found it has helped them with their friends, parents, siblings, schoolwork, and other activities.

Over 25 years of research has proven that Mindfulness increases attention and focus, reduces stress, anxiety, and depression, and increases well-being.  And in some cases, it has been found to be as helpful as therapy or medication.  Mindfulness is used by professional athletes, artists, musicians, business people, teachers, healthcare professionals, lawyers, and military personnel to enhance their performance.
